Wordless Wednesday - You Just Have to Smile

Have you ever had that feeling that the silence coming from the living room isn't a good thing?  Well the other day when I was making supper the living room went silent.  After about five minutes of silence I walked into the living room, looked over the couch and found both kids laying on the floor with ink all over their faces, feet and legs.  I had left a pen on one of our side tables and LP decided to give MP and himself tattoos I guess.  MP had in mainly on her face which you can see somewhat well in the photo.  LP mainly had it on his legs and feet.  But it was just one of those times you had to take a breath, smile and take a photo before educating your kids about how we don't play with pens.  I was just happy it wasn't marker!

Have you ever had one of these moments?  Remember to Comment for a Cause!

    1. Nicole! So glad to hear from you again. I've gotten behind on checking blogs so I'm not even sure if your "maternity leave" from blogging is over yet! And yes, I'm sure too that you'll have plenty of those memories in the future!

  2. Awesome! I'm glad you picked up the camera! Too many of my kids childhood days went undocumented as I was in a rush to get it "cleaned up". Wish I would have smiled more! Glad you do!

    1. Like I said, I saw what happened and had to take a breath before doing anything. I know the best thing to do is to take a breath before reacting so you can make the best choice on how to handle it.

  3. Awww, I love memories like this! I'm glad you were able to take a moment and smile about it. These kinds of moments always make the best stories and too often we aren't able to appreciate them while they are happening. Cute picture :)

  4. Sounds like you did a great job of saying calm and carrying on. See, it helps to have a blog when these things happen because it provides good blog fodder and by taking a photo, it helps to enjoy the moment instead of freaking out. I've learned this from episodes with my cats and when things break around the house.

  5. My daughter is always into Memories photos! She has one of her best friend with a binkie in her mouth while she changed a diaper for my granddaughter. It showed up at a surprise party photo board. This will definitely qualify! How cute, such loves.

  6. Bless their hearts!!! Yes, be very grateful it wasn't permanent marker. How about hair cutting--have they done that yet???? Our oldest did that one night when they had a babysitter…..she was afraid we would never have her babysit again! :-)

    1. No cutting of the hair yet thank goodness! But LP did get a hold of scissors the other day and cut up a fabric measuring tape. Now it is minus about four inches...
