Birthday Waffles!

One of our family's birthday traditions is by starting off the day by serving Birthday Waffles and singing Happy Birthday!  You'll want to add these fluffy and sweet Birthday Waffles to your next birthday celebration too.

Celebrate your family's next birthday by starting the tradition of having birthday waffles!

We're less than a week away from a very important birthday for our family.  Any guesses?  Christmas is next week and we start our Christmas Day morning off by singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and having a big breakfast, including Breakfast Waffles.  This is a fun birthday tradition that we include in our Christmas traditions to celebrate Jesus's birthday.

These birthday waffles are easy to make and fun for the entire family.  I use some vanilla instant pudding in the waffle mix which helps the waffles stay moist and fluffy, and then I enhance the flavors of the waffles with Nielsen-Massey's Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla.  I love using this vanilla as an all-purpose vanilla.  It is sweet, yet mellow.  And the teaspoon of vanilla in these waffles I think gives them that little added something.  Then to top this waffle mix off, I add in some sprinkles which makes them extra special for a birthday celebration.

2 cups Milk
6 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
3 Tbsp Sprinkles

Combine dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl.  Mix in wet ingredients til well blended and smooth.  Stir in sprinkles.

Preheat your waffle iron at medium heat.  Pour 1/2 cup batter onto the center of the lower grid when waffle maker is ready.  Yields 8 waffles.

  3. I love that you use pudding mix in your waffles. I agree that a bit of vanilla in the batter makes them so good. And I love that you make Jesus birthday waffles too!
