County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards...

County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards...

County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards... 4-H Judging

It's about learning something new and challenging yourself to do something different. It's about learning life-long skills, which at 10 years old you don't realize the impact, but will be grateful for the experiences later in life.

County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards...

It's about knowing what hard work is and learning responsibility. It's about having dedication to your projects and livestock and then experiencing pride at the judges table and show ring.

It's about the community coming together and giving back, especially to our youth and families.

County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards...

It's about bonding with family, greeting neighbors, meeting new friends and enjoying time together with old friends.

It's about exploring your interests and investing in yourself. It's about "making the best better."

County Fair is more than the ribbons and awards...

Of course, we'll celebrate all the accomplishments, but the ribbons or awards will get dusty on a shelf or stored in a box. What lasts through these 4-H experiences and time at the County Fair, is the development of future leaders, the building of life-long skills and the dedication to service in your community that makes this Mom's heart proud.

Here's to enjoying the Franklin County Fair! I am so excited to see the smiles, pride and excitement build as we go through the week. What's your favorite thing about the County Fair or 4-H?
