Back to School Farm Kid Style with Carhartt

Guess what I got in the mail yesterday?  Mr. K's school registration information.  I guess it is official then, it's time to start getting ready to go back to school.  I have to admit, it makes me a little sad because I'm going to miss having Mr. K around each day.  But at the same time, I know how much he loves school, so it makes me excited for him.

One thing Mr. K is excited about, to get ready to go to Kindergarten, is to go shopping for school supplies.  I remember this too as a child.  There's is just something fun and thrilling about getting new pencils, new notebooks, and of course, a new backpack!  When I showed Mr. K Carhartt's new line of school backpacks, he quickly (and excitedly) chose the Camo Junior Bib Pocket Pack.

Mr. K and his new Carhartt backpack!
The Junior Bib Pocket Backpack is the perfect size for my soon to be Kindergartner.  I don't have to worry about it hitting the back of his knees, but yet there is plenty of room in it for him to carry his folders and pair of shoes.  I also like that the backpack is water repellent for those rainy and snowy school days during the year.  Mr. K is most excited for all of the pockets!  There is a front organization panel that he says he's going to put pencils and pictures he draws in, and he is going to put his "bus toys" (he has a 45 minute bus ride to school) in the front zippered pocket.  The front zippered pocket will give his toys their own space, separate from the roomy main compartment that will hold his school work.  In the end, with a name like Carhartt, I know the backpack will be dependable, strong and durable.

    1. Mr. K loves Camo! I'm not sure if it is because his Dad likes to hunt or because his aunt is in the military. He had a camo winter jacket and boots last year and loved them!

  2. Love it. My son wants a new backpack this year since I made him use the same one for Kindergarten and 1st grade. It was expensive and still in great shape. It is actually still in great shape but I will let him get a new one.

    1. I always had to use the same backpack a couple years in a row too and that's why you have to get a good, strong and sturdy one.

  4. I would choose the jr. bib backpack for my grandson. He's not quite old enough for school, but carries his "treasures" in a backpack when he leaves the house. He'd love this.

    1. Mr. K got his first backpack when he was 2. He used it (and still uses it) for car trips, carrying around treasures, etc.

  5. Backpacks are so personal, like a purse. I used to buy the grandkids ones, but they wanted to always pick it out themselves.

    1. Mr. K had so much fun going to PreK and it really got him excited to start Kindergarten this year. The only thing I wish I could have done last year during PreK is go on a field trip. He had a lot of field trips during the fall, which doesn't work for me with harvest, and then the last couple of field trips always seemed to fall of baby doctor appointments. This year I'll make sure I go on one!

  10. I'd love to get the traditional size for my son; although he has another backpack for school, I'd love for him to have his own bag for traveling.

    1. Mr. K is excited and ready. We got all of our school supplies (minus gym shoes) last week. I will admit, I'm going to miss having my big helper around, but I know Miss A will step up and the girls and I will be just fine while Mr. K is at school. :)

  18. I remember my time at school as if it was yesterday, next year my wife and I will already send our son to the first grade. And now I have such emotions as if I were going to first grade again. It's good that our neighbors gave us federal student aid contact and we contacted them and gave us good advice. They explained what stages of admission and where we have. We were also told about different perspectives in different industries and were offered several options to choose from. I also like that they are well versed in matters and will help save you money and time.
