National Ag Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the vast world of agriculture. As a 5th generation farm family, we live and breathe agriculture every day, and I thought it would be fun to get my kids’ perspectives on what farm life means to them. So, I sat down and asked them questions about growing up on the farm. Their answers were simple, honest and a reminder of why we love this way of life.

My kids helping this past fall during harvest K (13), R (8), L (9) and A (11) |
What’s your favorite thing about growing up on a farm?
There’s nothing quite like the freedom of farm life — wide-open spaces, fresh air and plenty of room to explore.
What’s your favorite crop or animal on the farm?
R – Our dog Sunny, because she’s cute and protects the farm.
L – Corn and sweet corn.
A – Corn and sweet corn.
K – Pigs, because they’re fun when they’re little.
From the crops we grow to the animals we care for, farming teaches responsibility and appreciation for the food on our tables.
How do you think farming helps the world?
R – It gives the world food, animals, and milk.
L – It gives us food, meat, and crops.
A – It gives us nutrients and food.
K – It gives us food.
It’s amazing to see how even at a young age, they understand the impact of agriculture. Farmers work hard every day to provide for their families and communities while feeding people far beyond our farm’s borders.
What’s your favorite chore to do on the farm? And your least favorite?
R – Favorite: Helping in the fields and riding in the tractor. Least favorite: Taking care of the goats’ water.
L – Favorite: Feeding the dog and barn cats. Least favorite: Getting the goats fresh water.
A – Favorite: Feeding the goats. Least favorite: Moving the goats to their outside pen — especially if the bus is coming and we're in a rush!
K – Favorite: Helping sort weaned pigs when they arrive at the farm. Least favorite: Grinding pig feed.
Like any job, farming has its fun moments and its tough tasks. But even the least favorite chores teach responsibility and the importance of caring for the land and animals.
If you could teach someone about farming, what would you show them first?
R – The big equipment.
L – The gigantic fields.
A – Our pig barns.
K – How to drive a tractor.
Each of these answers highlights an important part of farm life — hard work, dedication, and a love for what we do.
As a farm family, we take pride in raising the next generation with these values. I love seeing our kids learn, grow, and develop their own passions for agriculture. Farming is more than a job; it’s a legacy — one that we’re proud to pass on. Happy National Ag Day!
Be sure to check out the last time I interviewed my kids for National Ag Day back in 2021! It’s fun to see which answers have stayed the same and how much they’ve grown in their knowledge and experiences of the farm.

ReplyDelete"What I love about Kapital is how they manage to create such bold, statement-making pieces while still keeping things wearable. Their designs stand out, but they’re not too loud—there’s this perfect balance between being fashion-forward and being grounded in timeless aesthetics. It’s the kind of brand that makes you feel confident without trying too hard."
ReplyDelete"Trapstar really knows how to make a statement with their clothing. The prints and graphics are so unique, and I love how the brand incorporates London’s street culture into their collections. Their collaborations with artists and other brands just elevate the whole aesthetic, making it feel like true fashion, not just ‘clothing.’"
ReplyDeleteThe range of Essentials clothing is broad, covering items like hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts, and outerwear.
ReplyDeleteTrapstar really nailed it with this hoodie. The bold logo and premium fabric give it an edge that other streetwear brands don’t quite hit. I love how versatile it is, whether I’m dressing up or down. Plus, it's super comfy for long days out. Worth every penny!

I recently bought a hoodie from Carsicko, and I’m impressed! The quality of the material is fantastic, and it’s super comfortable
ReplyDeleteI feel like Carsicko really nails the vibe of automotive culture. The designs speak to anyone who appreciates the art of cars and the streetwear scene.
ReplyDelete“I get the hype, but sometimes I feel like Yeezy clothing is too overpriced for what it offers. The designs are interesting, sure, but the quality doesn’t always match the cost. Would love to see more focus on craftsmanship moving forward.”
ReplyDeleteCelebrities have also played a huge role in the brand’s popularity. Stars like Kanye West, Drake, Travis Scott, and Rihanna have all been spotted wearing Chrome Hearts hoodies, reinforcing the brand’s image as a cultural icon. In an era where celebrity endorsements carry immense influence, this visibility has elevated Chrome Hearts from a niche label into a household name in luxury streetwear.
ReplyDeleteTheir products often have a boxy or cropped / more relaxed fit, and they seem to place value on aesthetic details (unique cuts, prints, maybe more bold styles).
ReplyDeleteI’ve been following Godspeed Clothing for a few months now, and one thing that’s consistent is their commitment to detail. From subtle branding to thoughtfully placed stitching
ReplyDeleteThe journey of seeking is rarely linear. Sisters may support each other wholeheartedly, or they may collide in frustration and rivalry. But even conflict can illuminate paths otherwise unseen. Through disagreements, misunderstandings, or moments of jealousy, each sister learns not only about the other but about herself. She discovers resilience, patience, and empathy. She learns which truths are hers to claim and which she must release. In this way, the sister-seeker becomes both anchor and compass—anchored in the bonds of family and community, yet guided by the call of curiosity and self-discovery.
ReplyDelete"Just got my first hoodie from Godspeed Clothing last week, and I’m honestly impressed. The print quality is solid and the fit is perfect. It’s rare to find streetwear brands that don’t compromise on material. Can’t wait to cop more!"
ReplyDeleteKawakubo’s design philosophy often centers on deconstruction and asymmetry. Unlike mainstream fashion, which emphasizes symmetry, decoration, and conventional beauty, Comme des Garçons thrives on experimentation and disruption. Clothes are intentionally oversized, shapes are unconventional, and silhouettes frequently appear abstract or sculptural. This approach challenges the wearer to think about clothing not merely as a utilitarian necessity but as a medium for self-expression and intellectual engagement. Kawakubo once famously stated, “I design clothes to create a space for people to think.”
ReplyDeleteSp5der's design aesthetic is a fusion of luxury and punk influences, characterized by oversized silhouettes, vibrant Y2K-inspired colors, and intricate spider web motifs. These elements are often enhanced with techniques like rhinestone embellishments, 3D puff prints, and luminous inks, creating tactile and visually striking pieces
ReplyDelete"I like what Corteiz stands for — anti-establishment, exclusive drops, and a strong brand identity — but I do wish there was a bit more accessibility. The limited releases are cool for hype, but tough on loyal fans who just want to support without paying resale prices. Still, can’t deny the quality and style."
ReplyDeleteGreat writing skills! The descriptions are delicate and vivid, easily creating a sense of immersion for readers.Geometry Dash
