10 years ago on Good Friday
10 years ago on Good Friday I was a freshman in college enjoying a beautiful spring night and went to a college house party with a boy I was interested in, instead of going to church. Now I am not a proponent of of skipping church, in fact, I'm writing this post quickly before our family heads to church to celebrate Good Friday (which by the way is one of my favorite church services of the year), but 10 years ago, which was actually April 9th back in 2004, it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. Because on Good Friday 2004, that boy I was interested in, is now my best friend, husband and father to my children, that "boy" is My Farmer.
I just wanted to thank My Farmer for a great and fun 10+ years. I feel so lucky to have met you our freshman year and fall in love with you in college. We might laugh when we think back to that first date at that house party, and everything else that went on our freshman year in college, but everything that happened led us to each other and for that I am forever thankful. Happy Anniversary My Farmer!

Our Anniversary Tradition: Chocolate Melting Cake
Six years ago today My Farmer and I said "I do". We had a beautiful wedding and a fun reception with many family and friends by our side.
Following our wedding we took a cruise along the western side of Mexico. While on our cruise we fell in love with the cruise boat's Chocolate Melting Cake. We had it almost nightly while on the boat. So as soon as we got back I knew I had to recreate the cake so we could have it at home. I make the cake now for our anniversary, My Farmer's birthday, Valentine's Day and any other special occasion, or if I'm really craving chocolate!

So here's to six sweet years of marriage!
Chocolate Melting Cake for Two
2 squares semi-sweet baker's chocolate
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
3 Tbsp flour
Butter two souffle cups and place on baking sheet.
Microwave chocolate and butter on High for 1 minute or until melted. Stir with wire whisk. Blend in egg and egg yolk. Stir in powdered sugar and flour. Divide between prepared custard cups.
Bake at 425 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until sides are firm but centers are soft. Let stand 1 minute. Serve immediately topped with ice cream of whipped topping.
| Mmm... See how it is all ooey gooey in the middle. Get a little bit of the outside, center and ice cream on your spoon for the perfect bite! |
What are some of your memories from your wedding day or honeymoon? Do you have any food memories that correspond with those special days?

Happy Anniversary to My Farmer
Yesterday was my Farmer's and my wedding anniversary. We got married four years ago, and I am truly loving life being my Farmer's wife and best friend. To celebrate we went out last night to our local casino's Woodfire Grille; a nice, romantic, no kids allowed restaurant which was exactly what we both were looking for. Here we are last night after our delicious supper and great night.
We reminisced a lot about our wedding day and the last eight years together (dating and married life). It was a lot of fun to talk about fond memories and dream about the future.
